Thanksgiving vacation

We spent the holiday week with Gina's dad, stepmom, sister and aunts and uncles. The Thanksgiving travel chaos was no match for Baby B, who smiled and snoozed her way through two major airports, long security lines, awkward in-flight diaper changes, and one LONG flight delay that included switching planes due to mechanical problems. She was such a trooper.

In GA, Bronwynn slept better than she ever has, up to 6 hours at a stretch! She knocked off several other firsts:

first plane ride
first Thanksgiving meal (breastmilk....yum!)
first afternoon without Mom (Gina treated herself to a haircut with Cara)
first football game (UGA vs. GA Tech....UGA won. Yay!)
first meeting with great aunts and uncles
first time watching Dad skydive (more on that later)...

1-month stats

Bronwynn had her 1-month check-up at the pediatrician today and got weighed and measured. She's now 9lbs, 9oz...almost 2 pounds up from her birth weight. And she's 21 3/8 inches long. She looks so big to us!

Kris got back from a 5-day backpacking trip today (work trip). He missed his girls, but had a great time exploring the mountains and sand dunes of Southern Colorado.

4 weeks!

Hard to believe nearly a month has gone by! Bronwynn is growing fast...we think she's over 9 pounds now. She has her 1-month pediatrician visit on Wednesday, so we'll know for sure then. Kris is out backpacking for work, but his mom is in town and helping a bunch. We'll be sad to see her go tomorrow. Bronwynn and I will be on our own for 4 days.

The good, the bad, and well, you know...

To say that parenting is an adventure is an understatement. As I type this, Bronwynn is sleeping on my chest (forgive the typos). We laugh. We cry (sometimes we laugh and cry at the same time.) We celebrate burps (no matter who is burping, we praise it..."Great burp, Bronwynn!.....Great burp, Ollie!"). We study poop ("...is it yellow? The book says it's supposed to be yellow..."). We take walks at 9pm to get Wynn to stop crying. We take turns eating dinner instead of eating together. We look for patterns and dream of schedules. We relish 3 1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep. We lay in bed on Saturday mornings making faces and giving kisses. We do laundry (or we don't). We take photos (lots of photos)!

In short, we couldn't be happier. Even when Bronwynn isn't.

First Halloween!

Well, okay, so she mostly slept and cried through it (evenings are her fussy time), but that didn't stop Kris and I from having fun with Bronwynn's first Halloween!
