What I did on my summer vacation...

|

And the week is only half over! We're in the mountains until Saturday and having a great time!

Hi, my name is Gina

|
...and I'm addicted to cloth diapers. It's true. I can't get enough of them. Call me weird. Call me a hippie. Call me the fashionista of poop-catchers. I can't help it. I am head-over-heels in love with B's fluffy butt. I can count on one hand the items of baby clothing I've bought in the past 9 months. But diapers? I've probably bought 50 or more. Designer fabrics. Organic bamboo velour. Fitteds. Pockets. Prefolds. Hemp fleece. Wool soakers. You name it, I've tried it. (Thankfully, we have some generous family members who keep the rest of B's body outfitted in style.)

If there were a 12-step program for diaper addicts, I'd be the first to join. But I'm sure I'd fall off the wagon, because every few weeks something new and exciting comes out in the world of cloth that I simply. must. try.

And for the few of you who think I must be exaggerating....B's baby album is full of pics of her fluffy tush! I'm also looking into crafty ways to fund my addiction. Stay tuned for more on that venture...coming soon.

9 month adventures

|
B spent her 9-month birthday conquering some new frontiers. First, she hitched a ride with her buddy Austin in his bike trailer--together, the babies, Austin's mom (Jes) and I rode to a neighboring town and had some cold drinks and snacks and biked home.

Later, B decided to conquer her version of Longs Peak. With Kris spotting her, she climbed the entire flight of stairs to the second floor. She never once faltered, though she did have to stop to rest half way. Once she crested the summit, she giggled in delight and went straight to the bookshelf in our loft where she pulled down several mountaineering books within her reach. Next she'll be looking for sponsors.

After all was said and done, she was one tired baby and found a cozy place to rest.

Best friends

Now that Bronwynn can get around, one of her favorite activities is to follow Ollie around the house. When he's outside, she'll stand at the window and "talk" to him. She also loves to feed Ollie her Snap Pea Crisps. He is so gentle with her; it's really sweet to watch.

Barefoot in the kitchen

|

That's what Kris said as I began to unload the dishwasher and B crawled over and started to "help."

Kris grabbed the camera immediately. "My two favorite women, barefoot and in the kitchen where they belong!" he chuckled.

That was almost a week ago and I haven't washed a single dish since. Funny how those comments come back to bite you in the ass, eh, Kris??
